As a boy growing up in the Bronx, Ralph Lauren loved going to Yankee Stadium™ to watch his hometown heroes play ball. Decades later, in celebration of his company’s 50th anniversary, he was honored to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Yankees™–Red Sox™ game on September 20, 2018.

Design Legend

Ralph Lauren was honored in September 2018 as a Design Legend in a special issue of GQ UK. In a first, Ralph Lauren appeared in London via hologram to receive his award, which was presented to him by actor James Norton.

Innovator Award
At the Wall Street Journal’s annual event celebrating the world’s most innovative thinkers and creators in November 2018, Ralph Lauren was honored with the Fashion Innovator Award, presented by designer Virgil Abloh. “My life was innovation,” Mr. Lauren said in his acceptance speech.

Knighthood
In November 2018, the British Consulate announced that Ralph Lauren would become the first American designer to receive the distinction of Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his impact in “fashion, business, and philanthropy.”

French-American Foundation Gala
In December 2018, Ralph Lauren was feted as the guest of honor at the French-American Foundation’s annual gala dinner in the Galerie des Batailles at the Château de Versailles, in celebration of his longtime love of French culture and style.

In June 2019, in a private ceremony at Buckingham Palace hosted by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, Ralph Lauren was presented with the knighthood insignia of Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, in recognition of his extensive philanthropic efforts, his unparalleled influence on the landscape of global style, and his longtime love of the culture, heritage, and people of Great Britain.
